John McGuinness started working in the family business during his school holidays. He studied Optometry at U.M.I.S.T from where he qualified as an optometrist in 1997.

John is now the manager of K.McGuinness Opticians and divides his time between both branches. John says, “I enjoy the variety that optometry brings. Each patient is unique with their own story about their eyes and what they mean to them. It’s a pleasure to bring out the best in this most important sense".
